INTELblast has a unique system of nozzles & nozzle inserts which allow the operator to vary the rate of air flow without the need for multiple nozzle throat diameters for each type of nozzle.
It is not always necessary to have maximum cleaning power/speed. One of the most obvious benefits of dry ice cleaning is that is able to clean electronics and sensitive surfaces without damage.
However, to obtain the fastest clean on surfaces where it is not possible to cause damage e.g. Steel surfaces, then pressure and volume need to be maximized.
The basic rule of thumb is;
“The higher the pressure, the more aggressive the clean.”
“The higher the volume, the faster you can work.”
Simple physics make long nozzles more effective, those same physics also reduce the aggressiveness of the clean when using shorter nozzles.
But, in many cases where accessibility of the work area to be cleaned is awkward or difficult to reach, then a shorter nozzle is the only solution.
The short round nozzle is only available with a fixed throat Diameter (No Inserts)
In order to generate the maximum airspeed, the air and the dry ice needs to accelerate at a specific angle. Calculations and tests have shown that a nozzle length of 700-900mm gives the best results.
A nozzle of this length also needs to be lightweight and be easily handled by the operator whilst offering maximum blast power.
Wide nozzles make it possible to clean larger surfaces faster. There is a compromise with the nozzle opening.
Each nozzle can be fitted with different inserts to give the optimum flow rate as determined by the working pressure & volume supplied by the compressor. This will enable the operator to achieve the best economy and effectiveness.
Each IBL3000 or IBL4000 is supplied with 3 nozzle inserts of your choice.
